Ministry Saint Clare’s Hospital to offer Safe Sitter® Classes
The Family Birth Center at Ministry Saint Clare’s Hospital in Weston is now accepting registrations for Safe Sitter® Classes.
Safe Sitter® is a medically accurate, competency-based babysitting preparation course designed for 11 to 13-year-olds.
“Injuries are the leading cause of death in children up to age 5, so today’s babysitters need to know more than just the basics of child care,” said Michelle Pagel, RN, Clinical Practice Support Coordinator at Ministry Saint Clare’s.
Ministry Saint Clare’s one day Safe Sitter program will discuss how babysitting is a business and what your child will need to do to be safe and successful babysitters.
Included in the class are accepting the jobs that are right for you, child care essentials, infant and child choking rescue, first-aid, behavior management and safety.
Safe Sitter Classes will be held on January 24, February 17, March 31, April 4 and April 21 in the Ministry Saint Clare’s Foundation Conference Room from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Participants should use parking lot and door #3 for best access to the program on the campus of the Weston Regional Medical Center.
Cost for the class is $50 and includes a student handbook. Participants should bring a bag lunch or money for lunch in the Bread Basket Restaurant. Financial assistance is available for families who cannot afford the normal fee, please call for more information.
Advanced registration is requested and space is limited. For registration information, please contact Michelle Pagel at 715.393.3046 or firstname.lastname@example.org
