Ministry Saint Clare’s Volunteers Award nearly $5,000 in Student Scholarships
The Volunteers of Ministry Saint Clare’s Hospital in Weston recently awarded seven scholarships to graduating seniors who have provided volunteer service to the hospital.
2014 Volunteer Scholarship Recipients include: Rachel Bauman, Paige Diedrick, Jenni Geurink, Shanelle Stanke and Nathan Vick of D.C. Everest High School; Brianna Holubets of Wausau West High School and Kayla Romatowski of Mosinee High School.
In total the seven have provided over 1,700 hours of service at Ministry Saint Clare’s in areas like the hospital gift shop, information desks and surgical waiting room.
“We congratulate these student volunteers who are shining examples of the support we receive from many students in the area,” said Leslie LaBonte Hayon, Volunteer Services manager at Ministry Saint Clare’s. “While studying, working, participating in various athletic and leadership activities, their commitment to service and our facility is a benefit for the patients and families we serve.”
LaBonte Hayon adds that student volunteers provided nearly 3,000 hours of service within the past year.
Student volunteers of all ages who have provided more than 50 hours of service and will be working towards a technical, associate or bachelor’s degree in the fall are eligible to apply.
Scholarships are based on funds raised by the volunteers and are administered by the Foundation of Ministry Saint Clare’s Hospital.
