Ministry Saint Clare’s plays host to statewide Respiratory Therapy Training
More than 50 Respiratory Therapy professionals took part in a ventilator training program at Ministry Saint Clare’s Hospital in Weston on Wednesday, October 30.
Led by Robert Safron, RRT, senior regional product specialist for Covidien Respiratory Solutions, the day-long program provided opportunities for clinicians to see and use many of the new techniques and strategies being used or studied worldwide for optimizing and enhancing mechanical ventilation for patient care.
Attendees from 24 health care agencies throughout the state took advantage of the program which also provided continuing education credits from the American Association for Respiratory Care.
“This was a great opportunity for us to showcase our facility and provide convenient training opportunities for respiratory professionals from our system and beyond,” said Joe Rohling, RRT, Respiratory Services manager at Ministry Saint Clare’s.
Participants in the program discussed topics like ventilator waveform graphics, clinical indicators, advanced pressure control and other key equipment involved in mechanical ventilation.
