Saint Clare's Foundation Supporters Pledge More Than $100,000 for matters Most
Supporters and friends of the Foundation of Saint Clare's Hospital have reached new heights in support for those who need it most.
Nearly 200 attendees joined together to raise more than $100,000 for the "Matters Most Fund" in the first "Within Clare's Reach" fundraising luncheon held in April at the Mountain Bay Conference Center in Weston.
Attendees to the event heard inspiring stories from a foundation scholarship recipient and representatives from the Community Corner Clubhouse who shared their personal stories and told how Foundation support has impacted their lives in positive ways.
The Foundation of Saint Clare's Hospital established the Matters Most Fund in 2005 to be used where needs are greatest to further Jesus' healing ministry, serve the poor and vulnerable and improve health.
"We are humbled by the support of our community for a first time event," said Mary Krueger, president of Saint Clare's Hospital. "Ultimately we want to improve the health of the citizens of our service area before they reach our doors, before they and their families begin to struggle with a serious health crisis and this support will go a long way to bring that support within our reach."
Table captains for the 2008 "Within Clare's Reach" included: Tee Daly, Tom and Janet Felch, Colleen Hoerneman, Intercity State Bank, Dennis and Heidi Kepchar, Lori Laporte, Joanne Leonard, Dan Mortensen and Jan Mueller with People's State Bank in Weston, Mark Moser, Barb Ochs, Tara Parks, Marty Reinhart, Jim Rufledt and Integrity First Bank, Jamie and Diane Schaefer, Cathy Taschler, Sherri Waid and Saint Clare's Volunteers, Rachel Yaron, River Valley Bank, Vigil Trust and Financial Advocacy and Hooshang Zeyghami and CWE Inc.
