Healthcare Advisory Council Welcomes New Members

Saint Elizabeth’s Medical Center and Wabasha Clinic, part of Lake City Medical Center - Mayo Health System, recognized outgoing members and welcomed a new slate of representatives to their Health Care Advisory Council (HCAC). The advisory group was established in 2007 to assist the medical community in identifying health needs, concerns, and opportunities. The HCAC meets three times a year and includes community members that represent the service area of Saint Elizabeth’s and Wabasha Clinic. During the meetings, members receive updates from hospital and clinic administrators about services and special initiatives. The meetings also provide ample time for members to share feedback and guidance regarding programs, services, needs, and gaps. HCAC members function as a vital link between providers and the communities served, and offer recommendations that help to improve quality of care and enhance service excellence.

“HCAC serves as an advisory council to the governing bodies of the two organizations and functions under their authority,” explains Tom Crowley, president and CEO of Saint Elizabeth’s Medical Center. “Members ask questions and offer ideas and suggestions. Their involvement is critical and helps us make informed decisions about improving health care and fulfilling our missions.”

“We value the contributions of this dedicated group of citizens,” adds Kay Kluge, Wabasha Clinic’s director of operations. “Their insight is important and guides future planning.”
