Ministry Health Care Electronic Health Record (EHR) Fully Operational at Tomahawk Campus

Ministry Health Care is pleased to announce their first site in the northern region, Ministry Medical Group located on the Sacred Heart Hospital Campus in Tomahawk went live with an Electronic Health Record (EHR) on November 18, 2009. The Sacred Heart Hospital campus in Tomahawk was selected as the northern region pilot site because its size and the fact that clinic and hospital operations have worked closely together for years.

SHSMH Receives National Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation Program Certification

Ministry Weight Management Program Orientations Available in Rhinelander

National Mammography Day, October 16 – Early Detection Saves Lives

In the United States, more than 178,480 new cases of invasive breast cancer in women will be diagnosed this year. Thankfully, significant progress in mammography technology is helping physicians diagnose the disease earlier. In addition, the sooner breast cancer is detected, the less likely a woman will need highly invasive and uncomfortable treatments, and the more likely she will survive the disease. As a result, breast cancer survivors make up the largest group of cancer survivors.

Swing Bed Program at Sacred Heart Hospital a Great Option for Recovery

Prolonged recovery after illness or injury can be difficult for those who are not able to care for themselves independently at home. Although Nursing Home placement may be an option, many patients aren’t ready to face the often emotionally-charged issue of moving to a Nursing Home, even temporarily. The Swing Bed Program at Sacred Heart Hospital in Tomahawk presents a wonderful alternative for patients who need a little extra time to heal.

Hospital Foundation Sponsors Community Health Screenings

The Sacred Heart Hospital Foundation in cooperation with Ministry Medical Group, Sacred Heart Hospital and Ministry Health Care, will sponsor free health screenings for community members on Saturday, October 24 from 8– 11:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Hospital located at 401 W. Mohawk Drive in Tomahawk. More than 50 Health Care professionals and Community partners will be available with health and wellness information. The event, one of the Foundation’s 2009 projects, is an effort to help build a healthier community by bringing preventive services and health information to area residents.

Sacred Heart and Saint Mary’s Hospitals Offer Free Mammogram Screening

Sacred Heart and Saint Mary’s Hospitals are offering free mammogram screenings to women 40 years and older who reside in the hospital’s primary service area which includes Oneida, Lincoln and Forest counties. To qualify for this free service you must be over 40 years old, must not have had a mammogram in the previous 12 months due to no insurance, or lack of other financial resources to acquire this service.

Once again this year Ministry Rehabilitation Services and Ministry Medical Group teamed up to offer FREE Pre-Participation Sports Physicals for athletes in sixth through eleventh grade within the Sacred Heart – Saint Mary’s Hospitals service area in July.
