Sacred Heart and Saint Mary’s Hospitals Offer Free Mammogram Screening

Sacred Heart and Saint Mary’s Hospitals are offering free mammogram screenings to women 40 years and older who reside in the hospital’s primary service area which includes Oneida, Lincoln and Forest counties.  To qualify for this free service you must be over 40 years old, must not have had a mammogram in the previous 12 months due to no insurance, or lack of other financial resources to acquire this service.

Sacred Heart-Saint Mary’s Hospital is called by its mission to seek opportunities to provide health care services to those without resources and often underserved.  “Our mission as a Catholic Health care system is to further the healing mission of Jesus by continually improving the health and well-being of all people, especially the poor, in the communities we serve” states Bill Erickson, Vice President Sacred Heart-Saint Mary’s Hospitals.

In recognition of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Sacred Heart and Saint Mary’s Hospitals are offering this free screening to help meet this very important unmet health care need for women in our community. Beginning Thursday, October 1 through Friday, October 30, 2009 free mammogram screenings will be offered at Saint Mary’s Hospital located at 2251 North Shore Drive in Rhinelander and Sacred Heart Hospital located at 401 West Mohawk Drive in Tomahawk.

It is a proven fact – a mammogram is the best way to detect breast cancer early. A mammogram CAN save your life.  Please call 715.361.2120 to schedule an appointment to discuss your eligibility for this free screening today!
