Sibling Grief

How children respond when a sibling is stillborn or dies shortly after birth depends on many factors, such as a child’s involvement in the pregnancy, home preparations for a new baby, family coping, extended family support, and previous experience. It may be helpful to know the typical responses to the death of a sibling as well as suggested interventions, ongoing sibling needs, family activities and the long term effects of experiencing the death of a sibling. Download our Guide to Grieving Siblings here.
