School of Radiography Mission Statement
To provide learning opportunities to future health care professionals who will demonstrate problem solving, communication, and critical thinking skills that will develop the necessary professional values that will lead to life-long learning in the imaging technologies.

Goals and Student Outcomes:
Goal#1: To provide students/graduates with critical-thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills necessary to perform as radiographers.
Student Outcome 1.1: Students will demonstrate an appropriate use of medical terminology when communicating with various healthcare professionals.
Student Outcome 1.2: Students will be able to perform alternative positions/projections when necessary to comply with patient limitations.
Student Outcome 1.3: Students/graduates will apply his/her knowledge of Radiation Physics, Imaging and Processing, and Anatomy and Physiology to obtain a diagnostically acceptable radiograph.
Student Outcome 1.4: Students/graduates will be able to accurately assess his/her finished radiograph for acceptability in patient position, technical factors, and overall film quality.
Goal #2: To ensure that students/graduates demonstrate professional behaviors that are ethically and morally sound.
Student Outcome 2.1: Students/graduates will uphold professional integrity when performing radiographic exams on patients of all cultures.
Student Outcome 2.2: Students will maintain a good understanding of ethical and legal issues in healthcare.
Student Outcome 2.3: Students will gain a better understanding of ethical dilemmas that face healthcare professionals.
Goal #3: To provide students/graduates with the skills necessary to be clinically competent.
Student Outcome 3.1: Student/graduate will assess the patient’s physical and cognitive condition for his/her ability to comply with standard exam protocol.
Student Outcome 3.2: Student/graduate will demonstrate good communication skills when conversing and interacting with his/her patient.
Student Outcome 3.3: Students will apply the basic radiation protection concepts of time, distance, and shielding on him and herself, staff and patient.
Goal #4: To graduate students with the necessary educational background and clinical skills in the specified timeline outlined in the program’s mission and outcomes.
Student Outcome 4.1: Student will successfully pass the registry exam the first time.
Student Outcome 4.2: Student attrition rate will meet the minimum requirements set forth by the JRCERT.
Student Outcome 4.3: Graduates will state that the program prepared them to perform as an entry-level radiographer.
Student Outcome 4.4: Graduates will be employed or involved in continuing education within 6 months of graduation.
Student Outcome 4.5: Graduates will function as a productive part of a healthcare team.
