Celebrate Earth Week with “Green Scaping.”

Conserve energy, go green and create a more sustainable garden and landscape this spring. Join Teri Gear, University Extension assistant horticulturalist at the next WellnessWorks program sponsored by Saint Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield.

The event will be Monday, April 19 at the hospital’s Mother Frances Streitel Conference Center. Gear will discuss “Green Scaping,” and how to incorporate natural and environmentally friendly practices in your garden and landscape. Learn about:

  • Wise plant selection
  • Composting
  • Rain gardens and rain barrels
  • Square foot gardening
  • Having nature work for you and your gardens.

In conjunction with the environmental theme, there also will be a thermometer exchange. Bring your old mercury thermometer(s) and exchange them for a free digital version.

Registration, refreshments and thermometer exchange will be at 5:30 p.m. with the presentation at 6 p.m. Registration is recommended by calling 888.666.2708. Parking is available in Lot E across from the Conference Center.
