Forty-two members of Marshfield Silver Laces Figure Skating Club laced up their skates recently to help sick and injured children through Children’s Miracle Network of Ministry Saint Joseph’s Children’s Hospital.
The Club hosted its first ever Skate-a-thon, raising $1,620 for CMN through collecting pledges from the community. Participants were challenged to skate for one hour, and had no trouble surpassing that goal. The fundraising event was held in conjunction with the club’s skills day.
Prior to the skate-a-thon, participants collected pledges from the community totaling $1,620. All proceeds were donated to Children’s Miracle Network through Ministry Saint Joseph’s Children’s Hospital.
The local CMN program covers Adams, Ashland, Bayfield, Clark, Forest, Gogebic (UP), Iron, Langlade, Lincoln, Marathon, Oneida, Portage, Price, Sawyer, Taylor, Vilas and Wood counties. Funds are both raised and distributed within this 17-county area.
Contributions to Children’s Miracle Network benefit an array of pediatric programs and services and it impacts young lives battling virtually every type of childhood illness and injury.
