Pediatric patients benefit from Festival fundraiser
Pediatric patients at Ministry Saint Joseph’s Children’s Hospital and their families will benefit from a record $109,000 that was raised recently at the annual Festival of Light, sponsored by the Foundation of Ministry Saint Joseph’s Hospital.
Nearly 200 people attended the sold-out event, held at the West 14th Restaurant in Marshfield. Funds were raised through a silent and vocal auction of Christmas trees and holiday decorations, trips, sports and dinner packages and more.
The funds will be used to help transform the entrance to the Pediatric Unit at Ministry Saint Joseph’s Children’s Hospital into a more welcoming and warm environment. It will include a virtual video wall and a café, as well as Todd’s Family Lounge, named in memory of Dr. Todd Stewart, a pediatric intensivist who died unexpectedly this past year. A special “end of auction” appeal at the Festival of Light raised an additional $18,000 toward construction of the lounge.
