For the 15th year, The Lure Bar Grill inRomewill sponsor a Polar Bear Jump to benefit Children's Miracle Network (CMN).
Since the first jumper dove into freezing waters on January 1, in 1998, participants have raised nearly $165,000 to help sick and injured children in Wood, Adams, Portage and 14 other counties right here in north central Wisconsin.
Plan to kick off your New Year at 1 p.m. January 1, in the freezing waters ofLakePetenwell, while trying your chances at winning prizes like the new Kindle Fire, a digital camera, portable DVD player and $50 gift card. Participants raising $75 or more will receive a T-shirt, and those who raise $100 or more will receive a T-shirt and a Polar Bear Jump beach towel.
Those not jumping will have the opportunity to support CMN by raising pledges as a "chicken." There also will be hot tubs on site, generously provided by The Pool People.
