“How will New Health Care Reform Affect Us?” will be the topic of the next educational session of FORUM 55+, a membership program for those 55 and older sponsored by Saint Joseph’s Hospital.
The session will be at 9 a.m. Wednesday, August 19 in the Mother Frances Streitel Conference Center. Presenter will be Karla Ashenhurst, Ministry Health Care director of government affairs. With the President hoping to sign a reform measure by Christmas, Ashenhurst will discuss the various proposals to reform health care and explain what they really mean. She will address how to access care under a new plan and how payments for health care will be made. She will also provide an update on state legislative issues affecting health care.
Blood pressure screenings and refreshments will be available at 8:30 a.m. Guests are welcome to the educational sessions.
The Men’s and Women’s Breakfast groups of FORUM 55+ will both meet at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, August 25 at Three Oaks Living Center. Focus of the meeting will be Geriatric Enhanced Modalities and a tour of the new rehab suite and therapy gym. Breakfast will be provided.
