Concert for Cure supports local cancer patients

(Stevens Point, WI) – The third annual Concert for a Cure for Cancer, held at Pacelli High School gifted over $700 from their May concert proceeds to Project Embrace at Saint Michael’s Foundation.

Project Embrace, created by Linda Cook, supports cancer patients served at the Stevens Point Cancer Center by offering each patient a warm, fleece blanket as a means of comfort during their cancer treatment.

“Each gift to Project Embrace can make a big difference to someone going through cancer treatment, shared Angie Heuck, Foundation Director. “Project Embrace blankets show patients that they are not alone and they have a community that cares.”

Concert for a Cure, created by Amy Formella, featured 26 different performances including vocals, violin, piano, and comedy involving performers of all ages. The event also included artwork with the theme of fighting cancer created by St. Peters Middle School students, under the direction of Tina Lepak and a bake sale.

“We were happy to donate a portion of the proceeds to Saint Michael’s Foundation,” shared Amy Formella. “It was another successful concert thanks to the generous donations of our students and concert supporters.”
