Free Class for New Parents Offers Peace of Mind
For Jeremy and Tricia Splinter the New Mom’s Class, offered free through the Women and Infants Center at Ministry Saint Michael’s Hospital, provides an opportunity to share stories with parents that are on the same page.
Jeremy Splinter, the father of four month old daughter, Ava, stated that being able to share stories about their daughter and hear what others have to say is extremely valuable.
“We like to be able to weigh Ava at these meetings,” commented Splinter. “Our next step is solid foods; these meetings offer the opportunity to ask questions instead of feeling like you are on your own.”
Lead by registered nurse and IBLC (International Board of Lactation Consultants) certified lactation consultant Lora Harris, the class is designed to provide weekly weight checks for baby and for new parents to meet with other parents.
“The class is awesome, Abby is nine months and we still come,” stated Jessie Johnson, of bringing her daughter Abby to the class.
The group meets Tuesdays from 10:30 am – 11:30 am in the Garden Room at Ministry Saint Michael’s Hospital. New topics every week, babies welcome. Call Lora Harris, RN, IBCLC, at 715-346-5332 for more information
