Help save a life with caring cards
(Stevens Point, WI) – On January 31, February 7 and 14 Saint Michael’s Foundation will sell Valentine’s Day/Caring Cards to benefit the CAST Fund from 11 am – 1pm in the Archangel Café at Ministry Saint Michael’s Hospital. A four-pack of unique heart cards sell for $10.
The CAST Fund was created to help support Portage County’s CARDIAC ARREST SURVIVAL TEAM (CAST) – a volunteer group of local emergency medical services and community leaders committed to improving cardiac arrest survival in our community.
Cardiac arrest can strike people in the prime of life without warning. Often, survival is dependent upon having devices like Automatic External Defibrillators (AEDs) on hand, along with people who are trained and willing to use them.
Together, Saint Michael’s Foundation CAST Fund and Portage County’s CAST program are raising funds for AED and CPR training as well as to put more AEDs in businesses, schools, and other public locations throughout Portage County.
“In communities where efforts like CAST have been established, cardiac arrest survival rate can reach 40-60%,” shared Angie Heuck, Saint Michael’s Foundation Director. “We have a goal to raise $10,000 to support CAST and our work in providing AEDs to all community locations in Portage County.”
