Local dance center donates performance proceeds to Ministry Dental Center
Stevens Point, WI – Ministry Dental Center received a $6,836.75 donation from Dance Education Center’s (DEC) spring performance ticket sales. With an additional $1,352 donated from flower sales, the dental center will receive a total of $8,188.75 from the dance school’s spring performance.
Ministry Dental Center sustains itself through donations, grants and community support such as foundations, corporations and private individuals. The donation from DEC will aid in the continuation of providing dental services for children and adults with little or no insurance in Portage County, South Wood County, eastern half of Waupaca County & southern part of Marathon County.
In 2008 Ministry Dental Center received the 2008 Global Vision Community Partnership Award from the Wisconsin Hospital Association Foundation recognizing ongoing community initiatives that are models for addressing community needs.
“The donation for the Dental Center really comes from the dedicated work of DEC students and the families and friends that support them,” stated DEC founder and director Tori Rogoski.
The Dance Education Center donates annual ticket proceeds from spring performances to local Stevens Point area non-profit services and programs. Since 2002 donations have totaled over $50,000. Last year DEC donated ticket proceeds to the Stevens Point area Red Cross, who provided relief to the fire fighters combating the dance center’s 2007 fire.
