Why does Ministry Saint Michael’s Hospital (MSMH) need a Foundation?
As Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement rates decrease and the number of under- and un-insured patients increase, hospitals are finding it more difficult to fund capital improvements, provide the latest in technological advances, and expand services to patients. The Foundation is responsible for developing relationships with donors, informing them about the needs within MSMH and matching potential donors to projects. This will help to ensure that the facilities and equipment that our patients need and quality of care they deserve is available into the future.

Saint Michael’s Foundation funds projects that enhance the quality of health care services for the patients and families served by Ministry Saint Michael’s Hospital and Ministry Medical Group. In the past four years, the Foundation has funded over $300,000 in projects. Projects include HALO Sleep Sacks for Newborns, Hat and Wig Gifting Program, Medication Cost Relief, capital purchases for the Ministry Dental Center and many additional programs. Contact the Foundation Office directly for a full list of supported initiatives.
Can I decide where my gift is used?
Yes. A variety of restricted funds have been established to allow donors to choose how their gift will be used. These options are designed to match the appropriate needs of MSMH with donor interest.
Does Ministry Medical Group (MMG) benefit from the Foundation?
Yes. Funding is available for projects and initiatives that benefit the departments and programs within MMG as well as MSMH.
