We are currently in our prep-phase of construction. During this phase we are completing our internal building remodeling and relocation projects to make room for our Emergency Room, ambulatory surgery and other outpatient areas construction project. Demolition and construction of these areas will begin in March 2014.
PARKING UPDATES DURING CONSTRUCTION
We are excited to announce that ED/ASC construction will soon be underway. The next step is the relocation of the oxygen tank – please watch for information on specific dates and times. As with any major construction/remodeling projects, we will be faced with some inconveniences. This project will necessitate some parking adjustments.
Parking adjustments to note:
Patients come first. Our first and foremost focus is to ensure that our patients and guests have convenient and adequate parking.
Street parking. Please respect our neighbors if you choose street parking. Previous complaints included blocked driveways, tobacco and trash littering. Associates are responsible for any tickets issued by the Stevens Point Police Department.

We are pleased to announce that construction of our new Emergency Department (ED) and renovation of our Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) will soon be underway. Ministry Saint Michael’s Emergency Department is the busiest in the Ministry system and we are looking forward to the changes to the new facility that will allow us better serve our patients.
Equipment will arrive onsite to make way for demolition in late March (weather dependent). During this phase, demolition of a portion of the south and east side of the building will occur as well as relocation of the oxygen tank.
Emergency and Urgent Care
Ministry Saint Michael’s Hospital Emergency and Urgent Care will remain open during construction. Plover Urgent Care is also available.
Our volunteers are moved in and already making the front lobby space their own. Sherri Vetter, Volunteer Coordinator, reports that all is well and volunteers look forward to continuing to offer the great service from their new office. Did you know that on average, there are over 20 volunteers that rotate through the volunteer office daily? The new space will give the volunteers greater exposure and access.
