April Mindfulness in Rhinelander
March 24, 2017
Ministry Koller Behavioral Health, part of Ascension, offers a monthly Mindfulness program in Rhinelander that is free to anyone in the community.
“Mindfulness and Sensitivities” is the featured program for April and will be offered on Tuesday, April 4, from 1-3 p.m. and Tuesday, March 18 from 5-7 p.m. April’s Mindfulness program will feature the documentary “Sensitive-The Untold Story,” featuring the work of Dr. Elaine Aron. Both sessions will be held at the Ministry Riverside Clinic at 1020 Kabel Avenue, Rhinelander in the 2nd floor conference room. Advanced registration is not required.
“Highly sensitive people are those who feel things deeply, notice subtleties, and are strongly empathic,” said Kathy Mitchell, MA of Ministry Koller Behavioral Health. “They can also be creative, intuitive, and easily get overwhelmed by too much stimulation. Our April program will offer the opportunity to learn how to compassionately meet your own sensitivities and the highly sensitive people among your friends and families.”
Ministry Koller Behavioral Health also offers the Riverside Meditation Group every other Thursday each month.
Riverside Meditation Group is an opportunity for anyone with a meditation practice to have regular group support. There are two twenty minute seated meditations with either walking meditation or Qigong in between. The meditation model is silent and still with occasional guided meditations. At the end a short talk focusing on enhancing skills of mindfulness and meditation.
The Riverside Meditation Group draws from western psychological mindfulness teachings, philosophy, literature, and poetry.
