Culver’s Sales to Support LIVESTRONG at the YMCA
(RHINELANDER, WI) – Go out for dinner and support a great cause! Culver’s of Rhinelander is hosting a fundraiser for the Ministry Saint Mary’s Hospital Foundation on Thursday, October 24, from 4 – 8 p.m. Culver’s is located at 620 West Kemp St. The restaurant will donate 10% of all sales to LIVESTRONG at the YMCA, a program supported, and funded, by the Foundation’s James Beck Cancer Center Patient Fund.
The LIVESTRONG at the Y fitness program is for adult cancer survivors who have become deconditioned from recent cancer treatment. The 12-week program provides survivors the opportunity to rebuild strength and stamina under the guidance of a highly trained YMCA instructor. Using a combination of individual instruction and group activities, survivors can participate in resistance training, cardio and functional activities as well as flexibility exercises.
“We’re excited to partner with Culver’s of Rhinelander to raise awareness of the LIVESTRONG at the YMCA program,” said Kim Hetland, radiation oncology manager, James Beck Cancer Center. “The program is a real benefit to our patients as research has shown that physical activity can decrease recurrence and increase survivorship.”
The James Beck Cancer Center at Ministry Saint Mary's Hospital nurtures long, close relationships and ongoing care with cancer patients, whether in the form of future treatments, palliative care, rehabilitation, checkups, support groups or providing new information. The goal is to meet every need of every patient, and to be a trusted resource for their families.
