Free Screenings, Medication Disposal, Blood Drive and More

(Rhinelander, WI) Saint Mary’s Hospital and Ministry Medical Group are hosting their Third Annual Community Health and Wellness Fair on Saturday, April 25 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Saint Mary’s Hospital, 2251 North Shore Drive in Rhinelander. More than 75 Health Care professionals and Community partners will be available with health and wellness information.
FREE health screenings and testing available include Cholesterol Panel (Total and HDL), Diabetes Screen, PSA Prostate Screen, Blood Pressure Check, Breast Health Exam, Memory Screen, Skin Cancer Check, Balance Screen, Hearing Screen, Throat Screen, and Body mass Index (BMI) Screen. There is no need to fast for the cholesterol or diabetes screens. Cholesterol patients must be 18 years and older. PSA Prostate screens are for men 50+ or 40+ with a family history of prostate cancer. Results from the cholesterol panel and PSA test will be mailed to participants. Appointments are not necessary. FREE screenings are available on a first come first serve basis.
Medications for disposal will be collected. No Chemotherapy drugs or sharps (used needles or lancets) will be accepted. Please bring your medications for disposal in their original containers (please do not mix medications together). For prescription medications, the patient name should be crossed out with black, permanent marker to comply with HIPPA requirements. A Saint Mary’s Hospital Pharmacist will also be available for medication consultation and reconciliation. Funding for the FREE screening and FREE medication disposal is provided by the Saint Mary’s Hospital Foundation.
CPR Anytime Training will be available at 10 and 11:30 a.m. A Marshfield Clinic educator will be on-site providing a CPR overview to participants. Each participant will receive a FREE “CPR Anytime Kit” and be encouraged to bring the kit home to help train their family and friends. Participation is limited to the first 50 participants.
The Rhinelander Area Food Pantry will be collecting non-perishable food items, paper products and toiletries. The Community Blood Center Blood will be collecting blood from 9:00 a.m. -12:30 p.m., please help save lives in the Northwoods by donating.
