Friends Gracie Quinn and Delanie Stafford recently donated 12 fleece blankets for pediatric patients at Saint Mary’s Hospital. The Rhinelander girls got the idea from Gracie’s cousin, who lives in Appleton. “I’m very proud of the girls,” said Jacki Quinn, Gracie’s mom. “They took this project on and have spent several hours making blankets to donate. We hope to have this be an ongoing project.” Some of the fabric for the blankets was donated by local merchants. “This is such a touching gift,” said Patty Fitzpatrick of Saint Mary’s Hospital. “The blankets Gracie and Delanie made are very well done and that they would be thinking of others and want to take on this kind of project is commendable.”
Emergency Department (ED) Manager, Cathy Fletcher shared as she received the donation from Fitzpatrick “I cannot thank you enough for these beautiful blankets….please extend my heartfelt thanks to the young ladies who made them. Their graciousness to a young, frightened child, who may present to the ED for care, will truly provide a moment of comfort to that child and the child’s parents. These small gestures provide HUGE emotional comforts to those youngsters in time of fear.”
