Media Advisory Medical Services Academy

February 18, 2009

The Medical Service Academy (MSA) is a collaborative program between Saint Mary’s Hospital and Rhinelander High School.  Its mission is to provide a guided academic curriculum and, using the community and its resources as the classroom, a health career exploration experience for high school students.

Dr. Dorothy Skye will be presenting a skills lab to the Medical Service Academy students on Tuesday, February 24.  The educational, interactive session will take place in the Guidance Office conference room at Rhinelander High School from 9:00am – 10:30am.

You are invited to attend and to talk with the ten students who are current participants.  The students will be learning about auscultation (lung and heart sounds) and will draw the anatomy of the chest on t-shirts to use for listening reference points.  This will be a fun opportunity to talk to the students about their motivation for being in the program.
