Ministry Health Care Offers Free Pulmonary Assessment

Oxygen. Your cells need a constant supply of it to function normally, but if this supply is reduced from smoking, sleep apnea or illness you could disrupt your body's functioning and even cause long term damage. A simple test can determine your oxygen level.

In recognition of National Pulmonary Rehabilitation Week March 16 – 22, Ministry Health Care’s Sacred Heart and Saint Mary’s Hospitals Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation staff are offering a FREE assessment on Thursday, March 18 from 4 to 6 p.m. at Saint Mary’s Hospital, 2251 North Shore Drive in Rhinelander and Sacred Heart Hospital, 401 West Mohawk Drive in Tomahawk. You are invited to stop by either location. No appointment is needed.

Pulmonary rehabilitation is a multidisciplinary continuum of services directed to persons with pulmonary disease and their families, usually by an interdisciplinary team of specialists, with the goal of achieving and maintaining the individual’s maximum level of independence and functioning in the community.

Sacred Heart and Saint Mary’s Pulmonary Rehabilitation Program is designed for adults who are increasingly limited in their everyday activities due to emphysema, chronic bronchitis, asthma, pulmonary fibrosis, lung surgery and environmental or occupational lung disease.

If you, or someone you know could benefit from pulmonary rehabilitation contact Ministry’s Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation department today. For more information in Rhinelander, call 715-361-2030 or in Tomahawk, call 715-453-7765.
