(Northwoods) -- Ministry Sacred Heart and Ministry Saint Mary’s Hospitals (MSHSMH) are offering free mammogram screenings to women 40 years and older who reside in the hospital’s primary service area which includes Oneida, Lincoln and Forest counties. To qualify for this free service you must be over 40 years old, must not have had a mammogram in the previous 12 months due to no insurance, or lack of other financial resources to acquire this service.
Ministry Sacred Heart-Saint Mary’s Hospital is called by its mission to seek opportunities to provide health care services to those without resources and often underserved. “Access to mammography services is critical as it is the best way to detect breast cancer in its earliest stages,” said Monica Hilt, president of MSHSMH.
In recognition of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Ministry Sacred Heart and Ministry Saint Mary’s Hospitals are offering this free screening to help meet this very important unmet health care need for women in our community. Beginning Monday, October 1 through Wednesday, October 31, 2012 free mammogram screenings will be offered to women who qualify at Ministry Saint Mary’s Hospital located at 2251 North Shore Drive in Rhinelander and Ministry Sacred Heart Hospital located at 401 West Mohawk Drive in Tomahawk.
