Ministry Saint Mary’s Hospital Community Health & Wellness Fair
(RHINELANDER, WI) – The Saint Mary’s Hospital Foundation will be hosting the seventh annual Community Health and Wellness Fair on Saturday, April 20, from 8 a.m. - noon at Ministry Saint Mary’s Hospital located at 2251 North Shore Drive in Rhinelander.
The health fair will feature FREE clinical screenings provided by the Saint Mary’s Hospital Foundation, Ministry Medical Group, and Ministry Saint Mary’s Hospital. Scheduled screenings will include cholesterol screening, diabetes screening, PSA prostate screening, blood pressure screening, balance screenings, breast health exam, skin screening, pulse oximetry and body mass index screening. Providers recommend fasting for a period of at least 12 hours before a cholesterol screening. Appointments are not necessary and the FREE screenings are available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Cholesterol patients must be 18 years of age and older.
“We are really looking forward to this event because it gives us an opportunity to interact with the community and provide free health services,” said Ministry Saint Mary’s Foundation Director, Jesse Bolder. “Being informed about your health care and the services offered locally is the most important step you can take for living a healthy and active life.” Ministry Saint Mary’s associates and community partners will be available with health and wellness information. The Community Blood Center is hosting a blood drive in the Galleria and the Rhinelander Area Food Pantry will be collecting donations. The Ministry Saint Mary’s Gift Shop will be open during the health fair.
The Community Health and Wellness Fair includes free seminars this year. Ministry Weight Management is hosting a program, “Small Changes Lead to Big Results in Weight Loss,” at 9 a.m. The Northwoods Wildlife Center is presenting, “How to Create a Bird Sanctuary in Your Back Yard” at 9:45 a.m. Golf season is getting closer so Dan Buckley, a PGA golf professional from Northwood Golf Club in Rhinelander, will host a seminar entitled, “The Three Truths About Golf” at 10:30 a.m., and Northwoods fishing guide Muskie Matt is going to discuss “Tips to Reel in the Big Walleye” at 11 a.m. All of these seminars will be presented in the Cafeteria.
The Community Link Health Access department will be hosting two, “Power of Attorney for Health Care” sessions in classroom four, near the Cafeteria.
