(Rhinelander, WI) It must be spring! The Saint Mary’s Hospital Volunteers are again offering flowering and green plants for sale. This is the 18th year for the annual fundraiser. Proceeds benefit the scholarships awarded to area students who are pursuing a career in health care. For sale this year are 7 of the most popular colors of geraniums. Also for sale are New Guinea impatiens in pink, red and white, dragon-wing begonias in red and pink, bacopa (a small white cascading flower), biden (dainty, daisy-like yellow flowers) dahlias, and Calibrachoa (a mini-petunia in deep cherry, bluish purple and apricot orange). Also offered are three varieties of greens to complement any container garden. The plants are grown especially for the volunteers by Hanson’s Garden Village. Prices range from $3.00 to $3.30 depending on the plant selected. A 10% discount is offered for orders of 24 or more geraniums. All the plants are in 4” pots and are in excellent condition. Order forms are available by calling 361-2875 or 362-6222 and can be picked up in the hospital Gift Shop Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. Orders with payment are due by Friday, May 8. Plant pick up is Tuesday, May 19 at the Saint Mary’s Hospital surgery entrance.
