The region’s only Pediatric Oncology Program
The pediatric cancer program at Ministry Saint Joseph’s Children’s Hospital in Marshfield is the only program of its kind in the region, providing advanced diagnostic and treatment technologies to children with cancer from throughout Wisconsin and the upper Midwest. Through our affiliation with the Children’s Oncology Group, the world's largest childhood cancer research organization, we strive to cure childhood and adolescent cancers through scientific discovery and compassionate care.
A special team – a special place
The dedicated Marshfield Clinic pediatric oncologists (cancer specialists) on staff draw on the expertise of an entire team of pediatric specialists and subspecialists. Nurses have advanced training in the care of young cancer patients, and the unique Cabin and Solarium offer children with cancer positive pressure environments that purify the air so that their weak immune system won't be compromised. The environment of the pediatric unit -- resembling a small community in Northern Wisconsin -- utilizes family centered care to minimize stress, provide play opportunities and make a child's stay in the hospital as pleasant as possible.
Helping children and their families
Ministry Saint Joseph's Children’s Hospital is one of only three Children's Miracle Network hospitals in Wisconsin, providing funds to ensure the best possible care for children and their families. The Child Life program is the only program of its kind in Central or Northern Wisconsin. Child Life Specialists work with our multi-disciplinary team to offer education, guidance and support to patients and their families. Nearby, the Ronald McDonald House is a home away from home for parents of children who are being treated at Ministry Saint Joseph's Hospital.
