Agriculture continues to be one of the most challenging occupations, related to health and safety, yet many farm families struggle obtaining preventive medical care because of the unique demands of their profession. These obstacles include limited access to
care due to driving distance, lack of, or limited insurance coverage, and long working hours.
Ministry Good Samaritan Health Center is pleased to offer a Rural Outreach Program to help farm families stay healthy and prevent life threatening illness and injuries.
This FREE program features an Agri-Certified Registered Nurse to visit your home and or farm. The visits will be customized to your needs but may include the following:
Full blood panel provided on-site with quick results to aid in early detection of heart disease, diabetes, stroke, and some cancers. Ministry Good Samaritan Health Center medical staff will discuss test results along with further steps, if necessary, including referral to a physician and other follow-up as needed.
Education about health issues related to improper respiratory, hearing and eye
protection, and proper protective clothing. Our clinical staff will help you
identify appropriate personal protective equipment based on climate,
work conditions and health needs.
Screenings, education and resources for spouses and
children living and or working on the family farm.
